Cosmetology
is a two-year program open to young men and women interested in the
broad field of cosmetology. GAVC students participate in both
classroom and practical experiences at the Morris Academy of Design
in Morris, under the direct supervision of licensing with the
Illinois Department of Registration and Education.
The cosmetology
program at the Morris Academy of Hair Design strives toward the
development of beauty culturist graduates who are adequately
prepared to successfully pass the state board requirements to
become a professional cosmetologist. Training also provides for
career opportunities as a hair stylist, hair coloring technician,
wig stylist, beauty counselor and skin care.
The Morris Academy of Hair Design's main objective is to provide each student with a marketable career after completing the prescribed courses. Classes stress professional background in the principles underlying the cosmetology profession, which are constantly being advised to assure the most pertinent knowledge available.
